Tips When Buying a Dog Bed......

It is advisable when choosing a bed for your dog, that it's within your budget and it suits the dog. You should also factor in the size of your dog when making a bed or shopping for one. Your dog would definitely want to feel comfortable, secure and safe while it is sleeping. Smaller breeds more than most, usually want their beds cuddling them. Now dog beds come in all sizes, shapes and style. There are designer beds, basic floor pillows, memory foam mattresses, simple mats and blankets, and just about everything in between. Style isn't nearly as important, however, as buying a bed that your canine will spend time on. It's important you make it clear to your pooch that when he's inside; the bed is where he needs to be. Doing so will drastically cut down on just about every form of damage your dog does to your flooring.
The bed fabrics have greatly improved, too. They are hypo-allergenic, stain resistant, bacteria resistant and washable. There are even chew-resistant fabrics that resist nearly any attempt to gnaw the edges. Fabric choices are as varied as micro velvet, canvas, denim, and waterproof faux suede and vinyl. Sofa type beds are also wonderful for dogs that many times you will find stretched out on their backs without a worry in the world. Dogs of this type will very often spend a lot of time looking for an acceptable comfortable surface to sleep upon. You may now and then come home to surprise a dog of this temperament catching a snooze on your bed.
For obvious reasons, the bed should be washable. A new bed may get smelly in just two weeks. Can you image how disappointed you would be if you had spent time and money gathering all the materials to make a dog bed and then actually making a dog bed, only to have the bed be stinky and not washable? What a waste! Another reason to have a washable bed is fleas. By having a washable bed, you will be able to break the life cycle of fleas. If your dog has fleas, use flea busters and throw the bed into the washing machine.
If you keep your dog outdoors, you might want to invest in an outdoor bed, as this will provide multiple benefits for your dog over the years. First of all, an outdoor dog bed provides insulation for your canine, which will go a long way in keeping it warm. This is especially important as the dog ages, since cold weather can make the dog's arthritis act up and cause it to experience a lot of discomfort. The dog will also feel secure if it has a safe place to return to at night, which is another great benefit that is associated with these beds. Make sure that you find the perfect bed for your dog because the benefits are truly endless for your favorite pets.
Take Care..!!
