How to Choose a Proper Bed for Your Dog

When you first decide to get a dog you think about all the cool stuff you are going to do; you think about all the walks, games and fun you are going to have. What most people don't realize is the responsibility of having a dog.
A dog should be like part of a family, you need to make sure he has plenty of exercise to stay fit, you need to feed him regularly, take care of their health, and make sure they are always well rested. Since we took them from the wilderness they depend on us to provide them with all the necessities they need to live a full life.
One of the primary things dog owners don't realize is the amount of training a dog should have and training your dog not to sleep on your bed in one of them. Even when they are puppies they tend to be territorial and try to take over your bed as part of their territory.
It is important therefore that you train your soon-to-be adult dog not to sleep on your bed. However cute they may seam when they are just a few months old, however, it's no fun having a 180 lb rottweiler sleeping on your bed, tossing and turning all night and not letting you have a minutes sleep, not to mention you having to clean up after.
Thus it is important that you secure a dog bed. And choosing one can sometimes be a daunting task depending on how well you know your dog breed. Some breeds should sleep on an elevated dog bed while some can sleep on a normal dog bed.
For instance golden retrievers should always sleep on a raised dog bed due to their problems with hips when they get older, and sleeping on an elevated dog bed helps them deal with the pain that comes with those kinds of problems, if you think that's a bit over the top for your dog then getting him a memory foam bed is another way to go.
Memory foam beds tend to "remember" the body shape of your dog thus enabling a more comfortable rest when it's needed.
You should consider the many factors that go into the bed that your god is going to sleep on, from the size, thickness, weather it will have a pillow, should the whole bed be washable or do you want the bed to have some extra features like heating or changeable sheets. Some dogs in certain parts of the world where it's colder also need a sleeping blanket so that they don't catch a cold.
All of there factors come in to play when you decide to go shopping for your favorite furry friend. The only thing is you have to choose right based on the breed of the dog.
